A dim light radiates delicate warmth across the room, tinting all that it touches a fiery orange. Atop the mantle stands several small wooden reindeer who, with such joy painted across their small faces, work as one to pull a sleigh in which sat a little fat elf who was so kind and a velvet bag spilling over with trinkets, nick-knacks and toys of all kinds. Just outside the elegant flickering of the hearth was a Christmas tree not less than five feet tall with so much tinsel it glimmered on its own. So many red, white, clear, and gold bulbs, candy-canes of all sizes and colors, popcorn strings and twinkling lights spiral round the tree that it began to sag to one side. The jewel, the crown of her majesty was a simple brass star.

At the base of this tree sat two, a small fox and a long snake, their eyes embracing one another for what seemed to them a joyful eternity. A scaled tail began to wrap itself around the hips of his fox, pulling both of them closer together. The fox then looked down into his hands as his serpent other pulls his own away and replants them lovingly about the morphs neck. Within his grasp the fox saw a small yet long box enshrouded with flamboyant colors and a rose red bow.

Without a second thought he digs through the barrier, first sliding the bow off then ripping the fragile paper. What he was left with was a box so dark of blue it shone black without the light. Using his claws that cunning fox slowly opened the new doorway. The snake could feel the pulse quicken and watched as the eyes grew wide with more than amazement, grew wide with such joy and disbelief.

The box was dropped to the floor and silver was bound around the foxes neck, a small silver sword with a dragon perched on its hilt, wings spread as if to protect what was his. When the fox finally looked up, his smile could grow know larger and he wept with joy. Hissing in a light, comforting way the snake pulls his partner against his chest, stroking him lightly.

“This is to be an eve that no one but we and conceive. For you I worked to earn and earned I did, spending every penny onto you for this one night to see that look of delight. Merry Christmas, Fox-kun,”

(Written to me boyfriend, if you couldn't guess)

That was perhaps.....one of the sweetest "tails" I've ever read.
Elegantly written, and the emotions carried through so well.....
*blushes*
YIKES!  Did I just say that!?
*blushes an even darker shade of crimson red while slinking out of topic*

Upon the far reaches of the moonlight, nothing but pearl white could be seen glimmering, save the few trees and cottages dotting the country side. In one hand, the boy clutched a small elegant silver blade, set on a plain silver chain. A delicate sigh eminated, the air catching it and turning it quickly to a small cloudy breath. A small smile broke along his face, as he tucked it again into the heavy over coat, pulling the scarlet scarf tighter around his neck. A moment passed, seeming an eternity as he watched the moon, a single light sound escaping into the furious chill.

"cercris..." he whispered, knowing no answer would come. Tying himself in a large bundle to keep warm, he smiled but again as a solitary, warm tear rolled down his cheek, as he turned from the moon. "If I could only tell you.." the words escaped, into the air, his Protector clasped in a fist to his heart. "If only you knew.." he said again, with a faint sigh. Turning his head back to the moon, he smiled.

"I would wait till the ends of the earth, If I knew he would forever be for me, O' moon." He declared. The moon just stared back, and nodded. The fox smiled, wagging his tail furiously as he scratched snow from his face-fur.

He looked again to the cottages, the light gone in one and he smiled. "Merry Christmas, Anata."

(This was his response to my story, I got it back the day after. I think Anata is just a term of affection, like calling someone "honey". Thanks for the compliment FireFox ^.^)
