A young lioness was sitting on the bank of what was once a beautiful lake. Because of past battles in the last few weeks, the lake was now a rancid flow of mud, water, and blood from those slain, including her father. Now, she is alone and stares out across the river, as if waiting for a sign of hope.

Kaila sighed deeply and repositioned herself to where she was lying on her side, with her head down. Fighting back tears proved virtually impossible- they came flowing like little streams. She could hold back her grief no longer. Quickly rising to her feet, she threw back her head and let out a tremendous roar, full of anguish, confusion and anger.

Shuddering almost immediatly, Kaila settled back down to her side lying position, shivering. She wasn't cold, and it was pretty stuffy that day, but something was making her feel cold all of a sudden.
