I'm not trying to be rude here, I'm asking a legit question. I'm not a furry, nor do I plan on becoming one, but I'm curious, what does a fursuit do for you besides make you hot? (temperature wise) I will comment however that the suits I have seen on here are well done, and I like them a lot. What's the point of them? I'd like to hear your opinions on it.

Probably the same reason some people wear T shirts promoting whatever cause that they believe in or feel strongly about.  It's more to make them feel good by showing the world "This makes me feel good deal with it".  I'm not a fursuiter myself but one of my daughers has one that she like to wear around the house.  My belief is if it isn't hurting anyone then what's the problem.

I'm not into it either, but when people go out of thier way to say "OMG! You sick freaks having sex in animal costumes! [HATE][HATE][HATE][HATE][HATE]" that's just ridiculous. I mean, why should they care? They don't have to have anything to do with it unless they absolutely want to or somebody chains them down and has fursuit sex in front of them. Nobody really does that much in fursuits anyway, and so what if they do?

But yeah, I have nothing against it at all, it's a good thing, but I'm just not into it. I don't really see why putting one of those things on would make anyone feel any less human, but whatever.

I'd love to have a fursuit, and I plan to get one at some point in the future. As for reasons, if I have one, I don't know it.

Sometimes you just like things because. I can't exactly explain why I like furry, myself.

I think that fursuits somewhat bring the person's character to "life" as one would say.

I'm in the process of making my own fursuit. :3

hmm....a very tricky one.

Salem has a fursuit so that he can be more in touch with his inner ocelot, mind you Ive only ever seen him wear it twice; once with me  Cool  and the second when he went to a con.

I can see the attraction as it can help you feal more in touch with your inner animal; help present your furson and project it; they are quite fun in bed (I didnt say that  Good )

I like wearing a tail cos I DO get phatoms, tail wise. I would like a suit and I wouldn't - I think Im plenty intouch with the Liger in me, and when the Liger wants out....it comes out big style and still scares Salem (well, Ocelots are so much small than Ligers/Lions). I'd like to have a fur suit just to be MORE Ligery and have a main and paws with proper claws and a tail. I could never wear a head cos they look so wrong - totally out of proportion etc. I think both of us in bed would be quite fun and we could totally give into well basic instincts..but thats portrayiing being a furry in purely a kinky sex kinda way which isnt why I am a furry - just a spin off....

err

Hope I havent confused folks

"what does a fursuit do for you besides make you hot?"

*pervy wolf howl*

Seriously? I wear one becasue...I feel like it. Why do you dye your hair? Wear a certain shoe? Talk the way you do, laugh the way you do, walk the way you do. Because you want to do what comesnatural.

I feel natural wearing a tail and ears and fuzzy booties and a collar. If you don't or it's not your cup of tea, I don't mind. But don't yank my tail of I will bite you so hard yo mama will be feeling it Razz

You show me someone like that, and I will show you someone who's obsessed with the idea of doing that very thing. We have one who's been talking about whuddabunchapervs(tm) Furries are for having sex in fursuits over at ExtremeTech for going on a yaer now. Long ago, he convinced me that he's the one who wants to dress up in a bunny suit and take it up the @55.

Same way with those who constantly bitch about yiff. The number of bytes on their hard drives filled with yiffy image files is in direct porportion to the level of indignation.

In the end, weirdos are a loud minority among those who decide to slap on the label, "furry." most of the people that put on fursuits do so because it's silly and fun, not because they're wacko perverts.

Hey! That's not true, simo...I'm very anti-yiff and the only yiffy image on my computer is there for a report on furries Bleh

Raef, the main difference is that you aren't going around, telling everyone on the 'Net that Furries are a Bunchapervs(tm) who can only draw and look at yiffy pics. (I'm considering that bunch over at CYD or the typical Something Awful goon) It's something else to just not persoanlly like it, and therefore avoid it.

It's those folks who do the most complaining about it who are really fascinated by it. This has been going on for quite some time, and the noisiest anti-p0rn crusaders are almost invariably the most obsessed and are using "opposition" as a cover for that fascination. The "decency crusader" is almost always the one with the biggest collection of p0rn, and when discovered, always claims it's to illustrate just how bad it is. (Ssssuuuurrrreeee, it is:    )

That's been going on since at least the Middle Ages when those "pious" monks were creating reams of p0rn for their own entertainment in the guise of describing the activities of witches and Satanists. They were the ones performing all the "Black Masses", not crazy old women living in secluded huts in the woods.

Hell, I don't have a fursuit (feathersuit? heh) but I would love to make one or have one made simply to feel more like the me I feel inside. I have always had phantoms of wings, always had dreams/visions of flying, and to put on a pair of articulated wings to make myself look more how I feel or envision myself would be totally natural...  I just don't have the money right now... Sigh

but I've done the research to design what i want  Happy

for me to do this tho would be for the same reason I would wear my katars out of the house - because it's me. The haters don't really matter to me, but were I to encounter one, well what do you think is one use for a katar?  Smile
