One Lie

One lie, this world...
So perfect, Where ignorance...
Is truely bliss.

The truth, it withers...
It panics and yearns for freedom...
No escape.

One lie, one by one...
It spreads furthermore...
Like poison seeping into your eyes.

Your ears will bleed...
Your sight will fail...
Darkness of the void slowly consumes you.

It knows your fears...
It knows your name, it calls out to you...
Silent masquerade, it cares for you.

One lie, you break...
Tears flow like rivers, slowly...
Your ignorance is no more.

You awaken, you take notice of it all...
It knows you loathe the truth...
It calls out to you.

One lie, one by one...
Is over, but you are stigmatised...
You are evil.

One lie, one truth...
They are equal, it no longer matters...
You take the leap of faith.

The void now covers you completely...
But you are no longer blind, even in total darkness...
You will know.

You feel the sharp pain unto the physical body...
You enter the moment of nothingness...
You still know the truth.

How proud you are, no longer one of them...
You are free, but you are alone...
Then regret, you sob.

It knows you, it hates you...
It loves to hate you, to feed from your fears...
No longer mere mortal.

One lie, knows you...
You are evil, solitary one...
You know the truth and now you must pay.

Makes a very strong statement if one can decipher it. I'll let readers figure it out for themselves, it probably speaks to different people in different ways. My taste, again, doesn't fancy the style. The breaks don't do anything for me.

Again, ignore me if you don't want criticism.

Maybe not much of a poem, after all this doesn't exactly rhyme, but a powerful statement nevertheless. Very true, and so apropos to these times indeed.

Thank you, this was just alittle of my "Christmas cheer." I was depressed when I wrote it (a few hours ago) and I was listening to "Moonlight Sonata."

Now that you mention it, it sort of does. Its actually supposed to be myself commiting suicide in third-person perspective (I'm not really suicidal, I just felt like writing about it).
