This is a question thats been on my mind for quite some time now. I am unable to figure it out for myself, and I was wondering if anyone else had any advice. Right now I've got:

School: Yes
Around Parents: No

Anytime, all the time. I would if it were not so impractical at the moment.

Add ears, then yer pushing it. I'd say keep that to school and friends. Even at school that would be pushing it.

A tail, REALLY stretching your limits. Just friends. Period.

Anything beyond that I would never allow my best friend to wear in front of me unless it is for a special occasion. Even then, it depends on the occassion.

If yer just asking about a collar... come on, there are much more freaky things that they actually allow in schools, so I don't think you should worry about a collar in school. In front of your parents, well, that is up to your discretion. My parents know me to bullet spike my hair, wear metal studs, patches, tight pants and the like. If I added a collar they wouldn't be the least suprised.

Well I do wear it around the school. I also don't bother to take it off if I go shopping (with the exception of where I work), but I don't go to put it on either. My dad has seen me wearing the collar while I was at school, and he didn't seem to care, but I don't think I'll be wearing it around the house anytime soon. I don't own ears or a tail, but if I did, I probably wouldn't wear them much outside of friends and such.

I also find it interesting that it feels strange to encounter unfamiliar people while I have my collar on outside of the school (not that I do anything about it), but it feels stranger to enter the school without my collar on. *shrugs* I've been wearing it to the school for a while now though.

So long as whatever you are doing or wherever you happen to be/be going is not considered formal, then just wear the collar. Seems a bit weird at first, I know (had a thing for a bandana over my face) but eventually you get use to it. Just another accessory.

Seems that you already have it figured out: wear the collar whenever you feel comfortable doing so, otherwise, pass on it.

for me? anytime anyplace. im comfy wearing my usual neon pink and black nylon snap dog collar around the house, out driving, school, around my folks(even tho i dont live with them anymore), i even wore it to work a few times and no one was bothered by it.

however: my formal collar is only worn to cons and on the rare occasions that i dress up. since its leather and spikes, studs and a D-ring and the inside is lined. custom made and i dont prefer it for everyday wear.

but hell, if you like your collar, i see nothing wrong with wearing anywhere.

of course this can vary from fur to fur. depends upon your parents, job etc etc.

I wear it to school. That's about it. I wore my tail to school a few times on special occasions (my birthday for example).

Well, in about a month I'm going off to college, should I wear it then? I'd like to, but I have no idea.

Sunoo... its college... I suggest wearing the ears as well. Might make you fit in better.

I'd love to wear both around. I have no idea if you are being sarcastic or not though. It's hard to tell over the internet.

cant really know unless you try. id wear the collar for a day, if youre comfy wearing it, then i would continue Wide Smile

as for the ears, its a tad more touchy but work on the collar first.

I was being semi-sarcastic, the point being that it is college and people don't care, in fact people encourage individuality. I was going to college with an old leather bikers jacket, a leather hat, tight black jeans with safety-pins in them, punk band shirt, and a fatigue bandana over my face. Only a handful of people asked me why, everybody else couldn't care less.

Okay, I'm moved up to college and such. I have my collar with me, but I haven't put it on yet. I'm really not sure why not though. I'd like to wear it, but I don't wear it. *shrugs*

I wish I had ears. ^_^ I used to have some that I made, but due to lack of materials they were just paper taped to a headband. I always thought they were cool anyway though. ^_^; I need some new ones. I'm getting a tail from a friend on Gaia, too. I don't know what I'm going to do with it but it looked so neat I couldn't resist. ^_^; I never thought about a collar, though. Maybe I'll try that out.

And congrats on going to college. =3 It's my first year too.
