My god, I actually moved from the Art section. Time to celebrate. Or run for lives. Choose one ^_~

*cough* Welcome to The Neverending Story or, to describe it better, the Topicless Thread. Hm, actually the descripton is not accurate, either. This thread will actually have not one, but multiple topics. Eventually. Or it will be forgotten in a few days. Either way...

Did You ever have that strange feeling - the urge to tell someone - anyone, actually - about something? Be it meaningless, silly, weird or whatever else comes to mind? But it's not really enough to make a new thread about it, or it is too off-topic for any other thread? Well, this is the place to do that. You could almost compare it to a chat - one person sets a topic; then we either talk about that for a while, or, if there's nothing to say (anymore), someone sets another. And so on, and so on. Neverending, actually.

Now, it's not supposed to be a "spam-thread"; we don't have enough active members at the moment to make spam possible, anyway, and it has got a purpose that makes some sense ( Do I make sense? Tell me if I don't. It's a bit late here, and no sleep = unable to express myself in a foreign language ^^ ).

Then again, since we really have very little active members, this thread may be pointless. Granted, it's a possibility. But we won't get to know unless we try, right? ^^

Sooo, let me make a start, then:

I got myself a tablet and OpenCanvas few days ago; I figured since I don't have a scanner ( and won't have one for a long time, I guess Smile ), I could try to make sketches directly on my pc. It's... hm... quite had to adapt to; very different from drawing with a normal pencil. I'm probably going to spend christmas trying to get used to it and making a few practice pieces. *looks around* any models? Smile I plan to maybe do some fanarts for Y? and Sixpack of Otters, but dunno if it will work out - and I need lots of practice, anyway. Don't expect wondes, though~...

Ooohhh! Doing art for Six Pack? Squee!! Can't wait to see it! You know I love S.P.O.O.  ^.^

Well, last few days have been active for me. Accidentally went to work when I didn't have to, but they said they needed the extra hand anyway so I got two extra hours in. Also, my boss gave everybody a ten dollar bonus... cash... with a gift-card... Why am I reminded of grandparents?  Lost

Anyway, went to a show last night IN HOLLYWOOD! Went to the Key Club to see Static-X. Two other bands wre on before, the first one being this unknown peice of shit band, second being a band called Prong or somehting like that. There was a small pit for #2, with a couple of idiots who didn't know how to mosh. Some idiot bro outright punched me in the side. I went off to the side, and I really wanted someone to push me back in hard so I could lay an elbow into his face.

Well, oddly enough, someone else had the same idea and did just that. Apparently I wasn't the only one being punched. After that I didn't see the bro in the pit again.

When Static-X came on, everybody went bat-shit insane. (sorry to all you bats out there). I have no real clear memories, every moment kinda blurred together, but I do remember crowd-surfing at least once, in which someone tried to tear my jacket off for some reason and another guy punched me.  Almost got thrown up on stage but I saw that the mics were right there in front, so I yelled and pointed away from the pit. Even saw a bouncer about to yank my ass down before I got the people to push me away from the stage.

Overall, I consider it a really good night. May have hyper-extended my elbow a little, bruised a couple bones (hard to breathe at times), stiff neck, and overall a whole body ache.  Good-times! Real Happy

Gots to get into the bath to soothe me muscles before I go to work.

Blessed Be,
~Arrowhead~

Do I know You love S.P.O.O? Nope, I didn't know that ^^' Yeah, well, I read that thing only a couple of days ago, since the link in the comic thread was broken for some reason. You might want to fix it. Or You might not. We're probably the only ones who care about that thread, anyway ;) well; I figured 'll be doing Emily, since she's hot  Happy Or maybe because I can't really think of an Image of any of the other otters. If You want to see the sketch up til now ( I kinda have the feeling that You will want to see it ^_~ ), click here. (edit: or here for a bit more progress ^^ ). It's not very much yet, though.

You know, I'd never belived that after reading Your description if I hadn't experienced such things already myself ^^ Tho I'm not a big fan of static x. You kind of reminded me of the upcoming Schanmaul-concert in Wien - and the money I yet have to save to be able to participate, too *sigh* Damn Money, You simply can't live properly without it ^_^ I really should get a job. Or practice hard and sell my stuff ^^' that'd be really neat...

Hum. I'm drifting away already Sweat 'bout the punching people... yeah, You always get those. Generally,You alway get people who dunno how to behave but think they belong in some place, be it a fur con, a club show or the church ( Now, I'm an Atheist, but I think there are things You jsut have to respect ^^' ). They're a pain ;)

Crowd-surfing... o.O... guess I'll never do that. Not after I#ve seen that girl going up nice and sound and coming down without her pants on With Full Force Festival. oO( that one rocked, btw. Good music 3 days long almost without breaks ^^ )

You know, if I didn't like my jacket so much I wouldn't have minded having it torn off of me. Or the rest of my clothes for that matter  Cool Smile But that's just me  Real Happy

I'll extend on this when I get back from work.

Pardon?... WORK?

ooooohmygod. Ok, right, You've got 'bit different times there, sure. but Imagine my confusion knowing I haven't thought of that little fact - and it's a quarter to 2:oo a.m here. Surprise that being said, I'm going to bed. oO(Inking with a tablet is way more tiring than doing it with, well, ink ^^' )

hahaha!!!  Real Happy Real Happy Real Happy

In my part of the world I went to work at around 17:00 and got off at about 21:30.

Any-who-way, back to the stripping within the pit...

::WARNING::next part is a little graphic::WARNING::

Personally I think it is just one of the potential hazards of entering a mosh pit. I've been to several, and you know what? I've been punched, kicked, elbowed, scratched, bitten, hit across the face with another face, groped, spat on, beer spilt on, bled on, puked on, and have had clothing torn. I am suprised I have yet to be stabbed (Though I did accidentally stab someone once when I had a wrist-band with spikes on it  Sweat )

Experiencing this has left me expecting anything. Half the time I expect some drunk or stoned chick to grab me, kiss me, and then knee me in the balls. This is why I am always interested in people's stories about being in a pit, cause I can relate to them easily and always find them entertaining. The more brutal, the better the entertainment. Minus when people actually die, then it kinda sucks.

You mean that actually happens?  Surprise

Hmh... we~ell, it's been some time since I had such stories to tell myself, tho I have to say I can't remember ever getting hurt too badly - just the average smpthoms: stiff, aching neck, minor bruises, that stuff. Come to think of it, I really ask myself now what was so great about it, now that I don't really do such things anymore ( yeah - boring, boring me ^__^ ) - obviously there had to be some appeal, because otherwise I wouldn't participate. Adrenaline kick? Probably.
God, I'm in one of those I-want-to-understand-the-world-moods again. Could someone please slap me?  Real Happy

Adrenaline rush indeed! Pretty much, you have loud music with a heavy bass to create a hypnotic beat, the stench of sweat, beer, pot and who knows what else is thick in the air, your body is being strained and battered around; pretty much it is a sensory overload, and you go into this trance-like state which is highly euphoric. You don't even need to do drugs or booze and you'll still get the same effect so long as you know how to loose yourself in the moment. Personally I think it is the biggest rush ever.

Oh yeah! Won't be christmas for me until tomorrow. Happy holidays! I even got a boken for one of me friends, so now we can sword-fight!  Surprise

Swordfights are fun ^___^ Tho I prefer full-metal, medieval swords ^^  don't own one myself oO( 150€ for a half-decent one, no way I'll be spending that kind of money without a job ^^ ) , but I know people who have multiples and lend me one from time to time. 'twas great fun making those special gloves for that ( parts of an old chainmail attached to a pair of old leather gloves ), especially since it saved my fingers from being broken a couple of days later Happy still it hurt like hell  Sigh

side note: There's a weird insect thing crawling around here. About the size of half a fingernail, green-brown, quite slow and somehow interesting. Normally, I don't really like insects, but I somehow don't want to throw this one out in the cold or let alone crush it. Call me weird, it's a pretty good description ;) but don't expect reason at 4:oo am! ^^

The early mornings turn me into a completely different snake @.@

Speaking of sword-fights, I heard that apparently, somewhere out in Arizona in the US, there is this little valley where, once a year (this upcoming feburary) there is a mass gathering of people who make their own chain-mail, wooden swords, and other armor and weapons. Each person goes to a team, with two teams and around 100 or so people per team. Someone drops a flag, and off they go!  Surprise

I might be getting a friend to take me out there, so I can view this. Maybe, if I enjoy watching it enough, the year after I will start making my stuff and join-in on the action! I'll call my friend again, and when I find out the name of this little event and get the website, I'll post it.

Hey Sylvine, you wouldn't happen to hang out Here (URL) would you? ExtremeTech has had a "topicless thread" for nearly four years now. Sort of an ET tradition.   Blink

So now we have our own "THread About Absolutely Nothing"

What's the big deal here?   Wide Smile

Personally I think it's a cool idea, Simo. Normally we are pretty clean-cut on keeping the jibba-jabba in their respective slots. Well, now if peeps wanna rant about something that doesn't really even deserve its own topic, they have a home here.

Not to mention it is great for those peeps, like myself, who have a hard time staying on one topic without going off on a tangent about something completely askew to the original topic.

mmmm.... kabobs...
